Tutorial videos provided by eRepresentative platform
12/03/2008
eRepresentative is a research and development project co-funded by the European Commission that is creating a web-based virtual desktop to support the mobile elected representative - whether an MP, an MEP or a local councillor.
The eRepresentative team is now proud to announce that user friendly tutorial/demonstration videos are available on the project website. One of the multimedia movies show the simple steps required to log in, search, view, save and edit documents as well as how users can contribute or manage committee meetings. Another movie shows eRepresentative from the administrators' perspective.
After two years of hard work, the final version of the eRepresentative desktop is running. Catalonian Parliament, Dutch Parliament, Hungarian National Assembly, Lithuanian Parliament and Westmeath County Council, Ireland now piloted a range of eRepresentative services suited to the diversity of assemblies' systems and requirements. The application has been developed by HP, Gov2U and Scytl; the project is coordinated and evaluated by Edinburgh's Napier University.
eRepresentative focused on making improvements in the delivery of key public services, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of elected assemblies and extending the state-of-the-art in the domain. By developing a mobile, secure, personalized and collaborative working environment for elected representatives, it enhances the effectiveness of National, Regional and Local Assemblies. In the future, it is planned to support inter-parliamentary communications.
eRepresentative acts as a virtual desktop for representatives to operate in the legislative process remotely, safely and easily. It allows users to draft a law, discuss it, introduce an amendment and vote for its approval with the appropriate security. It is equipped with smart technologies to manage data overloads that representatives face in their work, so that it can free MPs from having to be present at every moment in the Assembly building. It also enables the seamless use of the desktop with the Parliaments' current systems.
